1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Roadster — Black over Black, Covered Headlights

Reimel Motor Cars is pleased to present this 1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Roadster, finished in black over a black leather interior with a tan convertible top.

The 4.2-litre cars are the ones most people actually want to drive. The larger engine brought more torque than the original 3.8, and with it came a fully synchromesh four-speed gearbox, better seats and a roomier pedal box — real improvements over the earliest cars without giving up anything that made the E-Type famous. This is a proper Series 1 throughout: covered headlights under glass, small front and rear lamps, tail lights above the bumper, and the black toggle-switch dash.

It sits on chrome wire wheels with Jaguar-centred hubs, and the cabin reads exactly as it should — black leather, Smiths instruments, a wood-rim steering wheel and a period radio in the console. Twin centre exhaust tips finish the tail.

We sold this E-Type earlier in 2026 and have now bought it back from that owner, so this is a car we know rather than one we are meeting for the first time. During our previous ownership it received a full inspection and brake service, and it showed roughly 51,500 miles on its return to us.
