Description

1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint — Modified 1.3L Twin-Cam, White over Burgundy

A European-market Giulietta Sprint first delivered in Italy, this 750B coupe came to North America in 2014 and spent the following four years being sorted, refreshed and lightly hot-rodded by Vintage Racing Services in Stratford, Connecticut. The result is a Bertone-bodied Alfa built to be driven rather than parked: white with dual blue center stripes, bumpers off, Marchal driving lights on the nose, and a burgundy leather interior fitted with Alfaholics GTA-style buckets and a Moto-Lita wood-rimmed wheel.

Power comes from a replacement 1.3-liter twin-cam four, rebuilt under prior ownership with high-compression pistons and racing-profile camshafts and breathing through a pair of Weber 40 DCOE carburetors into an Alfaholics tubular manifold and stainless-steel exhaust. Ignition is PerTronix electronic, charging is handled by an Alfaholics 45-amp alternator, and drive goes to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox. Suspension and brakes were modified during the same period, with the braking system serviced in 2020.

The car rides on 15-inch TZ-style wheels wearing Vredestein Sprint Classic tires, and a spare set of Fergat steel wheels with polished center caps goes with the sale. The five-digit odometer shows roughly 16,000 kilometers (about 10,000 miles), with total chassis mileage unknown. Correspondence from Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo confirming production date, original destination and factory color accompanies the car, along with service records dating back to 2016.

Sorted mechanically and genuinely fun on the road, this is a usable twin-cam Giulietta for vintage events and back-road driving — with honest needs noted below.
