This car was a period SCCA racer, as evidenced by the Minilite wheels, dual Walpress mirrors, roll bar, and hood and trunk pins. In the interior, you'll find original leather and trim, and period aircraft seat belts, in addition to an Amco wooden shift knob. Under the bonnet, you'll find a massaged 1622cc. The car spent the majority of it's life in California, and even the floorboards are original.

The car was purchased by Mark Smith, a prominent member of the car collecting community in 2015. Prior to this purchase, the car received comprehensive mechanical upgrades including the following: new B25 big valve cylinder head assembly with guides, valves, springs, rocker shaft and rebushed rockers. New rings on period Jahn's pistons. New standard size rod bearings. An oil cooler was added as well as a spin-on filter. Larger 1 3/4" SU carbs with matching large manifold and screened velocity stacks and a working choke. All this combines for a "Stage 4" build per MG racing manual. . racing flip up gas cap. hood & trunk pins. chrome valve cover. Vilem B. Haan period leather alloy spoke racing steering wheel. New brake/clutch master cylinder. New slave and all hydraulic hoses. New front disc brake pistons, seals, and pads. new rear wheel cylinders, hardware and shoes. Fuel tank is clean, and new fuel pump and filter were installed. Detroit locker differential. 4.30:1 gears w/10 spline axles. And more!
