Reimel Motor Cars is proud to offer this 2000 Ferrari 550 Maranello with 30,482 miles. Finished in Giallo Modena over Cuoio leather interior.
This 3 owner Ferrari is fitted with Daytona style seats, silver painted brake calipers and a dedication plaque signed by Sergio Pininfarina, who was a personal friend of the original owner, Ron Spangler. Mr. Spangler purchased the car new from Algar Ferrari.
Mr. Spangler loved Ferraris he collected, showed, brokered and sold the Italian sports cars all over the world, he also raced them and even had his own team at LeMans. Mr. Spangler also raised money for local charities through a Ferrari meet and show held at his Prancing Horse Farm. His collection was impressive. By 1991, at the age of 54, he had owned 57 Ferraris including three that he kept at his farm. One of his early cars took second place at the 24 Hours of Daytona race in 1979 and another took first in the Ferrari GT Class at the 24 Hours at Le Mans in France in 1982.
Mr. Spangler seemed to know everyone involved with Ferraris, from the top executives at the car company, to owners and mechanics. Ferraris were his passion, and he was always willing to help or talk to anyone who shared his love of the Italian cars including Segio Pininfarina personalized this car for Mr. Spangler.
The 550 Maranello is a front-engine V12 two-seater built by Ferrari between 1996 and 2001. This model was the first front-engine Ferrari produced in 23 years. The 550 Maranello spent 30 months in development before being unveiled in July 1996 at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany. The 550 Maranello features Pininfarina styling on both the exterior and interior design.
The car is accompanied by comprehensive service records - with absolutely no gaps in maintenance. Stickies have been addressed, as well as all other service requirements. Complete books, tools, and cover are included with this 550.
